Numa academia de estudantes, três deles, Yusuke, Jou e Megumi desenvolvem um traje chamado Liveman e o testam em dois amigos. Porém, outros três alunos da academia resolvem se aliar a um império de gênios do mal, e estes os fazem matar os dois irmãos com os trajes. No dia da formatura, os gênios do Império Volt aparecem e destroem toda a academia. Os três estudantes que desenvolveram os trajes Liveman os pegam e passam a usá-los para defender o planeta de Volt. Com o passar da série, Volt fica mais forte, trazendo graves problemas aos Liveman. É então que os irmãos caçulas dos dois estudantes mortos no início da série retornam para vingá-los, e completam o esquadrão das super feras.
